Y’ALL. THIS. IS. HAPPENING! What an incredible ride God has us on and what a humbling thing to be called by God in this way. We are wildly excited and deeply honored to be stepping out in faith on the beautiful, winding road of adoption. We have logged countless hours dreaming about our family- our children, our home, our future. We jumped into the depths of dreaming early, and have wondered and longed for our family since the earliest days of dating. We knew adoption was ahead of us, we just didn’t know how soon this season would come. In our first year of marriage, we tried to conceive naturally, but discovered that it would be nearly impossible for us to bear a child on our own. While this was a difficult season, we believe that impossibility is God’s specialty. We know that God can and will grow our family through natural conception if that is His will- but we feel a clear and peaceful nudge that RIGHT NOW, stepping out towards is adoption is an act of joyful obedience. Though the news of our fertility struggle was difficult, making the choice to adopt came with great ease and peace. Adoption is not “plan B” for us.. it’s just coming sooner in “Plan A” than we had originally thought! We’d love to share more of our journey with you and we’d be honored if you would walk with us through each bend and turn. You can do that by following along here.
Our anticipated expenses for the adoption are approximately $36,000 which includes home study expenses, agency costs, matching and placement fees, care for the birth mother, legal fees, and finalization costs (We are happy to share the breakdown of costs in greater detail with anyone who is interested.)
As of today, we have around $22,000 (update: $9000 left) to raise and we need your help! This number feels CRAZY HUGE and often overwhelms us, but we are reminded in Ephesians 3:20 that we serve a God who is "able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think”.
